FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
How often should we attend classes?
This all depends upon how much time you have before your wedding date. If your wedding is 2 to 10 weeks away we recommend a “Crash” course. We often ask “crash course” couples to attend two to three times a week. Repetition is key to helping you remember your steps and this will allow you and instructor the time to create the dance you desire. If your wedding dance is 2 to 10 months away you have more time to learn at a leisurely pace. You can also learn fun dances like Salsa, Swing, Hustle and many more. We recommend regular wedding packages for these couples. The wedding packages include private lessons to concentrate on the “First Dance” and group classes to learn the other “Fun” dances. Another good idea for you, is to bring in a list of songs that you have requested your DJ or Band to play and your instructor will be able to determine what dances you should learn to match those songs. This will give you the opportunity to dance and enjoy the entire evening.
How do we get started?
You can call or e-mail us to set up your $30 introductory appointment. The best times to call are between 1 pm and 10 pm. We will respond to your call promptly and answer any questions you may have.
During your first lesson we will listen to your wedding song to determine the dance that goes to the music and begin teaching you the basics of that dance. We will also discuss the look and style you wish to have for your wedding dance to help us determine the best learning strategy to meet that goal.
When should we get started?
Ideally you should time your lessons so they end 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. This allows for unexpected scheduling conflicts and frees up your schedule during the last hectic weeks leading up to your big day! If you think you’ve already waited too long, don’t fear, even a few lessons before the wedding will help the bride and groom feel more confident and comfortable on the dance floor. Remember, there are “Crash Courses” if needed. We also recommend scheduling in advance to secure time slots that you prefer.
